Buyer
Summary and Overview
The Buyer is a highly organized, detail-oriented team player who will oversee the entire order process. You will review proposals, analyze trends, follow up with placed orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.
Responsibilities
  • Utilizes information and input from senior management, sales, commercial/technical/industry publications, manufactures representatives and other contacts and knowledge to create and maintain an effective base of primary and secondary suppliers for procurement of required products.
  • Ensures that competitive costing, including payment terms and rebates, is secured to allow Keidel to be competitive in the marketplace and attain its profit goals.
  • Assists Sales in the quotation process. As appropriate, secures and manages special supplier job quotations costing so that Keidel wins business in a profitable manner.
  • Inventory Control - critical that this asset is effectively managed to allow for superior service to the market while minimizing the financial investment required by Keidel. This is a key item for the buyers to manage.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional and positive manner with suppliers, customers and co-workers.
  • Continuously work with sales, manufactures representatives, senior management and the marketplace to ensure that the product mix and offerings are appropriate in your assigned product lines.
  • Manage the administrative detail and activities to allow for an effective and smooth purchasing/inventory management operations (such as returns, system maintenance, payable exceptions, etc.).
  • Demonstrate continuous efforst to improve operations, streamline processes and improve service within the Purchasing and Inventory Management areas.
  • Manage the rebate program for your suppliers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to allow Keidel effectively service its customers.
Requirements
  • College degree in business field preferred.
  • Minimum two years successful experience as a buyer or in material management.
  • Knowledge of plumbing products and their marketplace is preferred.
  • Effective problem solver and detail oriented.
  • Possess knowledge and competence with purchasing and inventory software systems.
  • Knowledge of common business practices relating to purchasing, pricing, terms, shipment taxes, freight polices.
  • Effective communicator with a demonstrated positive approach to issues. Must be a good team player and work well with others.

Columbus Inside Sales
Summary and Overview
The Inside Sales representative will work cooperatively with outside sales and other members of the distribution team to grow existing customers, to create new customers and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas at the appropriate gross margin while increasing customer satisfaction.

  • Sells and promotes the items and products that we stock – provides alternative suggestions to customers who request other products, and successfully converts initial customer requests to stock brands.

  • Learns and demonstrates effective time management practices involving planning and scheduling daily, monthly, and annual activities and priorities.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive company product knowledge - and can articulate competitive advantage.

Requirements
  • Two years of successful experience in inside sales in the Columbus market.
  • Two years of either inside or outside sales focusing on residential and/or commercial plumbing sales to residential plumbers or mechanical contractors, preferably in the plumbing area, but HVAC, electrical equipment, core construction materials would also be valuable. The key is familiarity with the plumbers and mechanical contractor trade and personnel in the Columbus market.

Warehouse Driver
Summary and Overview
This position is responsible for the delivery of Keidel products to our customers.
Responsibilities
  • Attend work regularly on the agreed upon schedule and be fit for duty
  • Follow all Keidel safety practices and policies
  • Follow all traffic laws
  • Dress in Keidel Supply uniform including all safety equipment (e.g. steel toed boots)
  • Act professionally and with integrity while on the job as a representative of Keidel Supply
  • Safely operate a Keidel owned box truck for the transportation of all Keidel products to our customer sites
  • Bring any equipment or customer issues to the attention of management immediately
  • Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED with high school level ability in math and reading
  • Must be at least 21 years of age for box truck/flatbed truck operation
  • Maximum of three jobs in three years, not to exceed five jobs in five years
  • Ability to ensure that gaps in employment of thirty days have been accounted for and verified
  • Clean driving record, including no DUI's and DWI's in the past 5 years
  • No controlled substance charges and /or convictions
  • Reliability—a record of good attendance
  • Work well individually and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in a warehouse
  • Experience operating a forklift preferred
  • Applicant must be able to lift flooring boxes weighing 50-75lbs
  • Must be able to drive standard transmission
  • Must be able to drive a 22ft flat bed/box truck
